Two Jeep Models Are "Most American" Vehicles

In an announcement made in advance of Independence Day, Cars.com revealed the list of vehicles that made their annual American-Made Index, and Jeep had two vehicles top the list as the Wrangler came in first and the Jeep Cherokee second.

Cars.com assesses vehicles based on these essential criteria: domestic parts content, United States factory employment numbers, engine country of origin, transmission country of origin and assembly location. Assembled in Toledo, Ohio, the Wrangler's domestic parts content ranked among the highest of all vehicles examined: 75 percent score for the Wrangler four-door and 74 percent for the Wrangler two-door.

Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA Global, was quoted in a press release as saying, “We are delighted to celebrate America’s most patriotic day with the news that Cars.com’s American-Made Index has ranked Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee as the two overall most-American vehicles for 2017. On this Fourth of July holiday we salute the dedicated employees who build Wrangler and Cherokee, as well as the loyal Jeep owners who drive them.”
