South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram invites you to compare the 2020 Jeep Wrangler vs 2021 Ford Bronco side-by-side. Review the performance specs and features of this popular matchup and discover which is best for you.
When speaking about off-road vehicles, there aren’t any more important models than the Ford Bronco and the Jeep Wrangler. Jeep was founded all the way back in 1944 when it was built as a military vehicle in World War 2. Over time that first Jeep grew into the off-road icon now known as the Jeep Wrangler. Ford created the first Bronco to compete with Jeep in 1965. Intended for use as an off-road vehicle, the Bronco was the first Sports Utility Vehicle. A lot has changed, and while the Wrangler’s production has been undisturbed, this will be the first new Bronco in 25 years.
The Bronco and the Ranger provide serious off-road credibility with powerful engine choices. The new 2021 Bronco Wildtrack has a 2.7L EcoBoost 6-cylinder engine that produces 400 lb-ft of torque and 310hp. The Wrangler utilizes a larger 3.6L V6 that yields 285hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. While the Ford Bronco may appear to have an advantage at first, Wrangler just might have an ace in the hole. Jeep just released the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept to gauge buyer interest. This new Wrangler features a 6.4L V8 that supplies 450hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.
While both the Wrangler and Bronco resemble their ancestors from past models, they both feature impressive features not available for the original vehicles. The 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrack has removable doors and a removable top, LED Signature Lighting and LED fog lights. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon has similar features like 17-inch aluminum wheels, LED DRL, LED fog light, LED brakelights, full LED headlights, removable doors, and a convertible roof. Inside, both feature cloth seating, USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, and touchscreen stereo systems.
The technology utilized in both off-roaders is just as impressive as their performance. Both SUVs feature Standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Anti-Lock Brakes, available Navigation, and more. The 2021 Wrangler has an available 7-inch Driver Information Digital Display while the Bronco offers an available Ford Co-Pilot 360 Safety Suite. This impressive display not only features the basics like vehicle Speed Control, Navigation, and speed, but it also has an Off-Road mode that displays the pitch and roll of your Wrangler.
